Lisa A. Jacobowitz
Lisa
A. Jacobowitz focuses her practice in the area
of family law. This encompasses all aspects of divorce and includes
matters of custody, visitation, support,
and adoption. Additionally, Lisa directs the firm’s
new mediation practice, for those clients who wish to resolve
issues in a private setting and outside the bounds of traditional adversarial
practice.
Lisa is a graduate of New York University and Vermont Law School. In 1983 Lisa began her career in Salem, Massachusetts where she practiced until the founding of Gilmore and Jacobowitz in 1989. For many years, Lisa has been involved in the local community serving on the boards and executive committees of various organizations including the Beverly Chamber of Commerce, Health and Education Services, the United Way of the Central North Shore, Project Rap and most recently, the Salem Academy Charter School.
Lisa has been in a leadership role in many legal organizations and was honored to be the first woman to serve as president of the Salem Bar Association in 1989. Lisa is a member of the Massachusetts, Essex County and Salem Bar Associations, the Massachusetts Council on Family Mediation and the North Shore Women Lawyers Association.
